9th Annual Wine and Walleye Festival

Hosted by the Lift Bridge Community Association along with coordination by the City of Ashtabula, the 9th Annual Wine and Walleye Festival will be alive and well again on Bridge Street in the Historic Ashtabula Harbor this July 27th thru July 29th. Be sure to mark your calendars for 2018 as the festival has been moved up to the month of July with hopes of great weather, summer vacation schedules, and an all-new fireworks celebration scheduled for Saturday evening following the lighted boat parade.

Live music and entertainment, lighthouse, river, and sunset boat tours, as well as a Saturday morning sailboat regatta are included in the new lineup of festivities for 2018. The festival will continue to offer the Wine Garden Event Tent providing some of the best local and regional wines from several wineries found throughout the Grand River Valley.

In addition to wine tasting activities and in coordination with all 6 of the Bridge Street restaurants, special pairing dinners will be offered to meet your appetite and tasteful palates all weekend long.

CRAFT BEER TENT – New for 2018 is the Craft Beer Tent providing patrons the option to quench their thirst for great tasting ales and IPAs. The craft beer craze continues to grow and the festival feels it will make a fantastic alternative for non-wine drinkers. The Beer Tent will be open on Friday, July 28 from 4pm to midnight with music. On Saturday, July 28, we are open from 1pm to midnight, with the band High Horse playing rock covers from 7pm to 1am. On Sunday, July 30, the Beer Tent is open from 1pm to the close of the festival. The Craft Beer Tent is located between Grindhouse Burgers and the Transient Dock, with prime seating for the lighted boat parade and fireworks on Saturday night. Proceeds benefit the Ashtabula Rotary Foundation’s local scholarship, youth and outreach programs.

Fishing Tournament Notice – The largest change to the 2018 festival is the absence of the walleye fishing tournament. At this time, the festival will be foregoing the tournament until further notice. The Lift Bridge Community Association will be working hard to bring the tournament back to the festival in future years. For now, if you are seeking the walleye tournament, contact the Greater Ashtabula Chamber for further details on their walleye tournament expected in August.

Bridge Street will be closed to traffic throughout the weekend.

We are all excited for a great group of musicians and hope you will plan your entire day with us!

No festival is complete without music! Knowing this, the Wine and Walleye Festival organizers have worked hard to line up an amazing group of performers for the weekend. The list of musicians that we have selected is a mix of nationally and internationally touring, signed artists, and local favorites with local flavor.

Wine Tent Information

The Wine and Walleye Festival Wine Garden returns again to Bridge Street in 2017. The Wine Garden is quite possibly the main attraction of the weekend to those patrons looking to taste some of the best varieties of wines available throughout the Grand River Valley. Expectations of 8 to 10 different wineries will be present.

The Wine Garden will be tented and across the street from Rennick Meat Market nearest the main entertainment stage where guests will enjoy the sounds of our weekend live music lineup while sipping from their complimentary wine glasses.  Winery owners and employees will be serving and speaking the viticulture language throughout the weekend as you taste their assortment of wines.

Adults 21 and over are allowed inside the Wine Garden for an entry fee of $25. A wrist band will be given along with multiple tasting tickets for your tasting flights. The Wine and Walleye Festival endorses responsible drinking and promotes the use of designated drivers to our guests. Designated drivers will be allowed to join their party inside the Wine Garden free of charge and will be given a separate wrist band for identification for a non-alcoholic option.

Presale Wine Garden tickets are available for sale via the link below for a discounted price of $20 for single day or $40 for a two day pass. Two day passes only available during our presale event. Presale ticket sales end Wednesday, July 26th.  Wine Garden hours for Saturday, July 29th will be 12pm to 9pm. A lighter schedule for Sunday, July 30th will reflect opening at 12 pm and closing of the Wine Garden at 6pm.
